WHAT IS SHAKTI ?
The whole universe is conceptualized into two aspects of energy, static and dynamic or masculine and feminine. Static or masculine aspect is depicted as Shiva and dynamic or feminine aspect is depicted as shakti. Shakti represents the force that does the creation while Shiva represents the force that empowers that creation. The whole universe is a manifestation of Shakti, which was referred by our ancient sages as Maa Ambey, the divine motherly form.
Shakti is active, smart and resides in every entity in this universe. Kundalini is also referred as Shakti, that resides in our body. Just like you need electric charge to generate more electricity, same way, you need Shakti to activate your Kundalini. And when its activated, it rises up and penetrates all the chakras.
WHAT IS SHAKTIPAT DIKSHA?
‘Shakti’ is energy and ‘pat’ is to fall or to transfer, whereas ‘Diksha’ is initiation by Guru. So the complete meaning of ‘Shaktipat Diksha’ is ‘the initiation of disciple by Guru through divine energy transfer’.
An enlightened Guru who has become one with the universe can easily evoke the divine energy or Maa Shakti upon request. And can transfer or channelize that energy to the disciple to activate the kundalini. The energy makes kundaini to rise up and clears all the blockages coming in its path.
There can be varying degree of energy transfer based on the stage of the disciple, Guru would know that. To receive shaktipat, the disciple is only required to have intent / sankalp to receive, even though he or she is not a perfect receiver.
The whole shaktipat process is watched and controlled by Maa shakti, who takes care of all its aspects.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REIKI, PRANIC HEALING AND SHAKTIPAT
Prana is sanskrit word which means life-force. Chinese word for it is Chi. Prana keeps the body alive and healthy. When we breath Prana Urjha/Energy enter in our body to give us life and health.
Reiki or Pranic healing is practiced on energy body of subject by using physical touch (by palm) or no touch. both are used to heal physical or emotional issues of the subject. The healer transfer the divine energy by acting as a channel between the subject and the divine energy/shakti.
Reiki, pranic healing and shaktipat, though all of three work through divine energy/shakti on energy body, But it is only shaktipat that awakens the kundalini that lay dormant in mooladhar chakra. Shaktipat triggers the kundalini to rise up and to clear the blockages in chakras.
Although shaktipat can easily be used for healing to remove diseases or emotional blockages , but it being the utmost sacred practice, Gurus don’t use it for that purpose (though there are exceptions). It is mainly used to lift the disciple spiritually if he or she is stuck in inner journey. Its just like lifting the disciple 2-3 stairs up from current level.

WHAT IS REMOTE SHAKTIPAT?
The transfer of divine energy when Guru and disciple are at different physical locations. The good part of it is that one does not have to leave home to get Shaktipat nor one has to be in the presence of a Shaktipat Guru. (The Guru has to be an able Guru to perform this).
One may be wondering on how one could give and receive ‘Shaktipat Diksha’ remotely; in actuality it is possible. It is based on ‘Sankalpa’ or thought and it is also called “Sankalpa Diksha”. It has been a common practice in India and abroad. There are many Gurus who give remote Shaktipat Diksha to aspirants living in abroad.
In Sankalpla disksha, the Guru and disciple (seeker) mutually decide a specific day and time, the disciple sits in a comfortable meditation posture in receptive mode at home during that time and Guru initiates the ‘Sankalpa Diksha’ remotely.
To better understand this, one must know what ‘Diksha’ is, it is an age old technique of transfer of spiritual or cosmic energy from Guru to Seeker. It is given only by Gurus to disciples to help them on their spiritual path towards self-realization or enlightenment as an ultimate destination.
Since movement of spiritual or cosmic energy is not restricted only to three dimensional space and can travel across the boundaries of time and space, at the speed of thought, therefore the same way, Guru through the connection of thought, can transfer the spiritual diksha (energy) to remotely present disciple. Irrespective of the physical distance between them. The right mutual timing plays an extremely important role in transfer of spiritual energy by thought.
It should be noted that the transferred cosmic energy works differently with every individual, because people are in different stages of their spiritual development. Most people experience immediate and a clear change in their consciousness; others feel only a subtle effect and some feel nothing at all.
Consider Diksha as a seed. If a seed falls on a rock it may not germinate, but the same seed if it falls on fertilized soil, will germinate soon. Spiritual progress works the same way. Diksha is the seed that Guru gives you and once you receive the seed, it is your job to keep the ground fertile and weed-less so that the seed cultivates into a plant and eventually a tree bearing fruits.
WHO CAN GIVE SHAKTIPAT DIKSHA?
Today almost every Guru and healer claim that they can give Shaktipat Diksha / Initiation, without knowing the difference between Pranic transmission and actual Shaktipat and they end up doing a Pranic transmission in the name of Shaktipat. The receiver, at the end of Pranic transmission feels very light, healthy and energetic although this feeling does not stay for long and fades away soon.
Some Gurus, in the name of Shaktipat, would rub the third eye point that will make receiver see different colours or would make them shout or cry. This is due to the fact that the so called (fake) Guru created the disturbance of energy or directed the energy in wrong direction and does not know on how to control that.
The real Shaktipat is a very soothing and blissful experience. One feels peace and bliss when energy falls on him or her.
Only a person who has lightened himself from inside and is able to enlighten others or an ‘Enlightened Guru’, can give Shaktipat and control the Shakti when it rises.
It is very graceful act. Maa Shakti becomes active and involved when an Enlighten Guru start the process of Initiation. She witnesses the Diksha process and very actively takes care of everything while She herself as Kundlini Shakti rises in our body.
